New Job

I have been on a new job, security guard... and it's a pretty chill one. I want to get certified in a lot of things so other more cooler positions open. Aside from that I still need to finish my class hours for my TEFL certificate but my schedule is kinda weird right now. Hopefully I can get an extension on that. Family is well and friends are great, I think, I haven't seen them. So far so good. Life is great.

MO FO last day

Yesterday was my last day at MOFO Bar and it was a pretty cool ending. I appreciated every tiring second and I managed to FINALLY get good tips... weird. I saw a friend, Omar Delgado, and a few of the regular customers that are pretty cool. There was nothing special but in a way it felt like a good day because it was the last and because I am embarking on another adventure. That feeling is always welcomed and I am constantly looking for it. Plus I got a really nice text message wishing me well on my last day... that made me smile and be even more happy. Got another different job description to the ones I already had and I am adding a still different one as for my new job. I wonder how many things I can do in life... If I could pick I would settle on being an astronaut and a writter :)

T.E.F.L. Certificate

I just finished my Teacher of English as a Foreign Language certificate and I am extremely happy. I got a 96.36% final grade... not too bad. There are just a few things that I have to do before I get my certificate and I add this to my academic resume. :) After this there will probably be the Masters on a yet undecided subject in an undecided University. There will be no stopping for me in learning, I always want to know more things and I always will... I am constantly learning about life and I think that I would even welcome the idea of learning about death (I hope I also get a good grade on these last two)

Mark Twain Quotes

A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way.
Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.
Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
Don't let schooling interfere with your education.
Education consists mainly of what we have unlearned.
Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company.
Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.
I don't like to commit myself about heaven and hell - you see, I have friends in both places.
It was wonderful to find America, but it would have been more wonderful to miss it.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.
The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.
There are basically two types of people. People who accomplish things, and people who claim to have accomplished things. The first group is less crowded.

Graduacion de mi hermana :)

So one more step in my sisters academic career has been achieved. I am really proud and happy for her and I hope she becomes a better student, keeps being an excellent basketball player and evolves into a wonderful human being.

Will's final grad... at last

I love this MO FO and he loves me back. I can't ask for anything more than that.

Father's Day 2009

This year we celebrated with a traditional "Carne Asada" and we used for the first time the "Beer dispenser". It was a really successful event because I did most of the cooking and it turn out to be not that bad. The beer was probably the best, it was Tecate Light and it was COLD!

Too early :)

Hello,

Every day this week I have been going to the U.S. to "train" for a new job. I don't want to give all of the details but it appears to be going well. I need to do 40 hours of a computer trainning that is not fun and really boring but I have been told that the pay is good, so I guess it's worth it. Today I will go and work at the bar MOFO, which is a really cool place and you should visit whenever you can. I'll be working at the bar today, tomorrow and Saturday. Hopefully it will be my last few weeks there so I can concentrate on the new job. I have learned a lot from that place (I will post more about it if everything goes according to plan) and I met really cool people. Well, I gotta get going but I wish you all a great day.

Best,

Dave
