O Cristo Redentor

That is the name of the mission in the favela for the new game of Call of Duty 2: Modern Warfare. I just bought the Playstation 3 and I got this game and I have to say that it is really cool. The graphics are amazing and it's just so intense! Fast paced action packed game.

THE PRAYER

When minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new sessions of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

THE PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good,," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the Name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on "The Rest of the Story" on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

Mark Twain's quote

Lorenia, the girl that works with me wrote down the quote of the day:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover"

This was really cool because next to my computer I have a lot of quotes from Mark Twain. I just think the man was awesome and really cool :)

Have a great day,

D

Update on life

Hello everybody,

- Things have been going good lately. I am four books away from reaching 25 books that I have read this year, hopefully I can get that done in November and probably squeeze in a couple in December. That was one of my goals for this 2009 and my new goal for 2010 will be to read 50.

- I am doing great in my not so new job because I have learn a lot and it's not really that complicated. The company looks to have opportunity to grow and I want to be a part of that process.

- My family is doing good, they are cool! :)

- I am having the time of my life with my girl, I love her and we are spending really good quality time together. Going to eat, walking, movies, coffee, bars and whatever we can think of. Life is good.

- Finally I am super excited because I will start going to the gym on December 1st. My goal will be to loose some weight and gain some muscle, hopefully have a harder body :) and be able to get my first tattoo probably for my birthday in February.

That's the news folks, not that big of an update but something to share with you. Take it easy!

My friend Laura

Hi Laura, I hope you don't mind but this is a really really cool picture. I love it. I wish I can take some pics like that soon :)

at last!

Here are some pics from my office. I work for a video game website so that is why I have video game posters. I enjoy my job a lot because I get to listen to music and work by myself most of the week. I have to be very organized and sometimes we have a lot of things to do but it's really an awesome experience.

Germán Dehesa
18 Ago. 09

Quedamos claros: si no
